May 1, 2020 - BlackRock

BlackRock was founded over 28 years ago by eight entrepreneurs who wanted to start a very different company. One that combined the best of a financial leader and a technology pioneer. And one that focused many diverse views on a singular purpose: making a difference in the lives of the parents and grandparents, the doctors and teachers who entrust us with their money—and their futures—every day.

Opportunities:

Summer Analyst Program
BlackRock’s Summer Analyst Program is a 9.5-week internship that provides students with an experience that replicates  life of a full-time Analyst at BlackRock. Interns get the opportunity to work on real-world projects throughout the summer. You also get the chance to participate in professional development, networking, and social events.

Eligibility: To be part of the program, you need to be an undergraduate or master’s student graduating between August 2021 and July 2022. Applicants should have less than 18 months of full-time, relevant work experience.

Applications open in June for 2021 opportunities.

Full-Time Analyst Program
The Full-Time Analyst Program is a multi-year experience aimed at empowering and supporting Analysts. The goal is to help Analysts connect their passions and strengths to BlackRock’s mission, principles and purpose.

The first part of the program is an orientation that helps incoming Analysts learn about BlackRock’s purpose, business, and priorities while also exposing you to the day to day expectations of the role.

After orientation, Analysts are integrated into their team and get to participate in ongoing training and professional development with colleagues throughout the world.

EligibilityApplicants should be undergraduate or master’s students with a graduation date between January 2019 through July 2021. Candidates must have less than 18 months of full-time work experience.

Applications for the next cycle will open in August 2020.

For both the Summer Analyst and Full-Time Analyst programs, applications will be reviewed once the application dates have ended. The submission dates for the 2021 cycle will be available when applications open.

Recruiting Process:

  • Application & Virtual Cover Letter
    • For the application, you’ll be asked to enter some basic details about your experience and submit your resume.
    • After submitting that information, you’ll receive an email with a link for HireVue, so you can complete your application with a video recording. This “virtual cover letter” allows you to respond to two more motivational questions and is used in place of a written letter.
    • When you click the link, you can start recording your video responses. You have 3 minutes to prepare your response and 90 seconds to record. Then, the next prompt will come on the screen, and you’ll have the same time to complete.
    • You must complete the virtual cover letter in one sitting and should take about 10 minutes.
  • 1st Round Interview
    • Applicants who are invited to the next round will connect with members of the BlackRock Team via video interviews.
    • The conversations will likely be centered on BlackRock’s Principles, so be sure to brush up on those before your interview!
  • Final Assessment
    • In the final round, candidates can expect to interview with several members of the team and may be asked to prepare a presentation, participate in group exercises, or complete a case interview.
