Hiring and Internships will Proceed as Usual

Even given this unprecendented situation with Covid-19, Goldman Sachs is committed to honoring 2020 hiring engagements and looking forward to connecting with First-Years and Sophomores for 2021 Summer Internships.

“As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to evolve, our recruiting team has been working hard to rethink our approach to events and create new ways to stay connected with you.  We look forward to learning more about you and your interests, and remain dedicated to recruiting our 2021 class of firmwide interns.”

The 2021 Summer Internship application will open July 1, 2020, while current full-time roles are listed in LionSHARE or the firm’s career’s website.

HOW CAN I CONNECT?

Stay tuned and create a profile in the Goldman Sachs careers portal where you can find a vast listing of virtual events, career tips, and recruitment calendar updates.

Before the recruiting season, the firm is offering 5 Coffee Chats exclusively for Columbia University students. Apply for the chance to connect with banking professionals and learn more about the company’s culture, career growth opportunities, and how to ace your application!

The deadline to submit your resume for all coffee chats is April 22, 2020.

What You can Expect from the APPLICATION PROCESS:

The application period lasts from July 1 to November 20. Interviews take place on a rolling basis and may occur as early as July, depending on the division.

Insider tip: If you are planning to intern at one of the Revenue Divisions (Investment Banking, Investment Research, and Management or the Merchant Bank), apply as soon as the application opens; those roles fill up quickly!

Interested in more than one role?

Good news, you can apply to up to 3 different positions, either within the same location (but various departments) or multiple locations across all of the 16 divisions hosting next year’s summer internships.

Learn what the 3-Step Hiring Process Entails:

  1. Online Application — Apply online with a resume; a cover letter is welcomed but not required.
  2. Video Interview — After resume screening, selected candidates will be invited to record a video interview (via HireVue) and asked to answer up to 5 behavioral and one technical question. Technical questions are always related to the business area of the division you will be interviewing for. Engineering roles might require prior coding knowledge and abilities testing.
  3. Super Day — This is the final step, usually hosted on-site, where candidates will have the chance to meet recruiters and line managers during 3 interviewing rounds.

Final decisions are made fast and offers are extended within 24 hours of the Super Day.
