Our VIP students were ahead of the curve –
Student interns that participated in the CCE Virtual Internship Program (VIP) remarked how “using Zoom before it became the norm” provided an easier transition into the post-pandemic world of remote school and work-from-home.
However, these students’ skill sets didn’t end there. In addition to using virtual communication platforms, student interns coordinated across different time zones to manage projects and deadlines, demonstrating and applying project and time management skills as well as global and multicultural competency.
But don’t just take our word for it…
…read on to hear direct quotes from students about their virtual internship, the valuable technical skills they gained, and their clearer understanding of their career goals and work values.
“This experience taught me what it was like to work in the corporate world. I am better prepared to take on the real world. I was able to find my passion in product management through my internship. Through the different tasks and assignments, I learned so much about how I can apply my background in technology and business towards a career field.” – Emily S., VIP 2020
“I strengthened my written communication skills, as most of my contact was through email. What I learned about the nuances of professional email communication will serve me well as I continue to pursue professional opportunities. Working there only amplified my desire to enter the legal field. I also have a newfound interest in criminal justice reform and look forward to continuing to pursue this sub-field before applying to law school.” – Isabelle P., VIP 2020
“My internship made me realize what type of culture and environment I thrive in. I will definitely look for a company with similar values!” – Julia C., VIP 2020
