Funding Programs

  1. We are now accepting applications to the summer funding programs (including the summer Work Exemption Program). Click here to review application instructions!
  2. The summer funding application deadline is April 14, 2025 at NOON.
  3. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
  4. It is your responsibility to ensure that your letter writer submits their recommendation and your employer submits their verification by the application deadline.
  5. If you are applying to fund an overseas opportunity, you must also submit a school sponsorship application as part of the Undergraduate International Travel Policy by April 14th.

Columbia College Summer Funding Program

The Columbia College Summer Funding Program provides funding to Columbia College students participating in unpaid or low paid summer internships related to their career pursuits and/or academic studies. Eligibility: Columbia College students who have secured an unpaid or low paid summer internship. Please note that certain donors restrict funding to students receiving grant-based financial aid.

Work Exemption Program

Recipients of the Work Exemption Program (WEP) receive a Columbia Grant to support their pursuit of unpaid internships, research projects, and community outreach, locally, nationally, and internationally. Eligibility: Columbia College and Columbia Engineering undergraduate students receiving grant-based financial aid

The Center for Career Education (CCE) is excited to announce the completion of another successful application cycle for the Work Exemption Program (WEP) for the Fall 2024 semester. As an enhancement to financial aid for undergraduate students in Columbia College and Columbia Engineering, the WEP program provides Columbia Grants to support eligible students’ pursuit of unpaid internships, research projects, and community outreach.
